One year ago I painted the topside of my '83 Hunter 31. It is still looking very good. When I wash it there is this small gap between the deck and the toe rail. When I spray a steam in the crack all manner of dirt, pollen etc. comes pouring out. No leaks on the inside. My question is should I caulk this gap ( you can fit he edge of a quarter in the gap) or should I leave it as is.

Leave it as is. That way it can drain when it rains and occassionally be cleaned out.

I would also leave it alone. We always used the hose with a pointed nozzle to clean our out a few times a year.
