ZWB is the manufacturer in this case it's "WHITBY BOAT WORKS LTD"

the next 5 digits are for the boat maker to decide, but a guess might be 42 for length and 146 hull number

next two are the month "February"

next two you know is the model year "1980"

Coulda been WBW for Whitby Boat Works. Maybe somebody else had that "moniker" back then and they were forced to choose something else. Kinda like trying to get an email address or a domain name. Maybe Ted'd know. How goes the survey?

1. Go to http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic1.aspx?pg=6 and list the FIRST 3 letters into the MIC box, then submit:
ZBW = Whitby Boat Works, Ltd., Whitby Ont.
2. nominal length in feet is 42
3. Hull # of this production series = #146
4. Month keel was laid 02 = Feb
5. Year keel was laid 80 = 1980

BTW ..... WBW 'also' is listed for Whitby. ZBW is probably a 2nd, 3rd, etc. owner of the Whitby name, etc.
:)
