Decal cleaning?

Does anyone have any tricks for Getting the decals along the water line clean? My 240's decals toward the stern have water marks (looks almost like hard water deposits) that I can't for the life of me figure out how to get rid of.

1. Are you sure they are vinyl?

2. Try something like CLR.

I wet sanded, compounded and polished over the decals along with the rest of the boat.

Decals seems to behave differently then the gel coat and I had a hard time getting polish off. Mine have a million nicks and missing parts after almost 30 years in the sun - but they did clean up.

At some point in the future I will get vinyl to go over the whole thing.

I clean and polish them along with the hull before the spring launch. I use the same compounds.

I did a wet sand gently, then 3M Rubbing Compound the medium one and the Finesse also by 3M - I never got to the wax as the boat was due to launch

I use Collinite 920 cleaner and 925 wax.
