Attempting to estimate risk of debonding following toppling of '89 H30 off cradle onto soft ground. Boat ended up leaning about 50 deg. against neighboring boat Only visible damage is a 1.5" puncture hole just below waterline at the aft quarter caused by a a Jackstand rod. No apparent internal damage other then the hole where the rod exited thru the inner grid liner into the interior. Concern is that following a "topple" what is the risk of debonding occurring between outer hull and inner linner/grid structure leading to future problems re keel/hull join, topside deck join, topside flexing etc etc?

Choices

Frank, You only have two basic choices, 1) the yard, and they will likely want the work and for liability etc go into it deeeep. 2) Get a survey. The surveyor will give you the facts only, and not be into giving the yard work. Try the SAMS OR NAMS websites or call: Stu Mclea at 902-576-2297 902-489-9640 and explain your situation, and if he cannot advise you he will know a damage surveyor. This at the very least will put your mind at ease. There is no way that anyone, even top-notch surveyor's, can answer your question without actually seeing the vessel, conditions, ground and the entire crime scene.
