Wow.. Friday the word was that the storm was going to be a non-issue.. Today is a lot different.. Water on the Lake Pontchartrain is already almost 2 feet above normal .. winds around 20 gusting to 25.. going to have to make a run overe therre to make sure dock lines and boat is secure. I am pretty sheltered from the current wind forecast, but still may see 40-50 at the slip.. Another one where I think our weather folks were a bit asleep at the switch (weekend) until someone pulled the alarm.
The Seabrook containment doors (New Orleans flood walls) were just set into place two weeks ago so I guess they are going to get closed tonight along with the others in the flood system..
Keeping fingers crossed.

the only site that i saw showing you guys getting hit is passage weather--and it shpws from nola to mid fla being hit. noaa is still saying there will be a 90 degree turn to teejass...i doubt it--passage shows it going across fla....hunker down and be safe!

Looking like the storm forecast is more east than the Pontchartrain.. West coast of Florida and panhandle seem to be in the track now.. Hope you guys don't have a problem with Debbie.. be safe.

Just came from loosening my dock lines a bit. The lake was up about 2 feet maybe. I'm actually worried more about the boat next to me. Tattered dock lines stretched hard. I was going to replace the bow lines on it before I left, but forgot.

In Naples we had a lot of rain yesterday and have had the feederbands come through spawning tornadoes. Had several with 5 miles of our house yesterday. Might have seen them on the news. Anyhow we had a big gust around 9 am and it tore a grommet out of one of my shade covers. (not a big deal) hopefully this is the worst I will have. I have had 3 inches of rain here on the coast. Up in Tampa they had 10+ and it looks like they are getting the brunt of it. I just checked the lines but am not going to remove canvass for this so far.
Hope all of you north get barttoned down. Wish there was a storm track.

storm pulse becme paid site jan of this year--really threw me for a loop--isnt a site that tells all anymore--have to use many. nhc, goes, and others inclusive of passage weather---which was first one i saw with splitting storm.....storm 2k also is good for watching the mayhem unfold. they discuss in detail, as well as show pictures and sat fotos.
