The DC light on the port side of the V berth does not have any power - '81 H37C. Does anyone know where these wires originate? Do they tap off the light over the head sink? Where can I access these wires to try to isolate the problem? Mark

You can't.

Or at least I don't think so. See my reply over on "Ask A Hunter Owner"(Related Link). I think you will have to run a new wire from the light over the vanity to the v-berth. It will have to run back to the hull/deck joint, around the bulkhead, and out to the light. All exposed. Then cover it somehow. But try pulling the wire from the vanity, maybe you can pull a new wire through. I could not between the nav light and the q-berth light. Let us know how you fix it.

Be sure to check the obvious

Mark, I had a similar problem, in the same place, and solved it by vigorously cleaning the light bulb contacts, the socket and the solder point contacts where the wires meet the fixture. I never did "see" the problem but it went way when I reassembled the fixture. Hope it's that easy, because tracing the wires is beyond me... Sanders S/V Good News

Thanks

I was hoping there was an easy answer - but I guess not. I already ruled out the connections and dirty contacts at the light fixture by removing the fixture entirely - no voltage present on the wires. I am going to disassemble the light over the vanity a little further in hopes of finding a loose connection there. Otherwise, it sounds as if I will have to run new wires. Thanks again, Mark
