I'm looking for some help, advice, info. There's a short circuit somewhere that's caused nav lites, cabinlites and propane gas valve to not work. Turing on one switch lites up 1/2 the panel. By disconnecting the caboin lites form the Wago switch, the gas valve now works, as does one cabin light!!! Is this a familiar problem any one can help me with??

beneteau electrics

Gary; Welcome to the exciting world of Beneteau electrics! I have a '94 (built in S. Carolina) OC 400. Since the day I bought it I've been hassling with the electrics. Engine panel problems, starter problems, alternator problems, chartplotter/radar problems, refrigeration problems, all of them because of what I think is shoddy work in installing the electrics. Everytime I think I have it whipped, something else comes up, usually at the worst possible time. I bought the boat brokerage. It was 3 years old and I wondered why I was already the third owner. Now I know. As far as your problem goes, look for stray wires behind the panel. If that doesn't work, disconnect every circuit behind the panel, label it, and begin re-connecting them one at a time, testing as you go. That should locate the problem. Do you have a schematic? If not, get one from BeneUSA. Good luck.
