During the course of an archaelogical dig I came across a 17 foot long blue and white object with the name "O'Day DaySailor" on it. According to the depth it was found at it appears to have been constructed AD 1963. My question, what can be done to restore the luster of the fiberglass? Are there sails out there? Thanks for any assistance.

Daysailer Dig

I recently bought such a 1979 dinosaur and am in the process of renovating it. If the gel-coat isn't too bad, you can compound and wax it. If not, you can sand it and paint it, which is what I am doing. My hull is a putrid orange and had some scrapes to fill, so I'm mainly re-painting for aesthetics. Yes, sails are available, both new and used. Check elsewhere on this site for sail info.
