Here are a few pics of the latest project. The old paint was just getting to be too much of an eyesore.
I could tell the original gel was seafoam green, so that's what I wanted to go with.
Sanded the old paint off with 100 grit on a D/A. Faired the scratches and dock rash, then primed.
Wet sanded the primer with 220 and filled any small stuff I missed. Applied a second coat of primer and hit that with 220 before applying color.
Used a store brand, single part polyurethane with their primer under it.
The color is brighter than I expected but it will work.
Thinned it 20% to spray with a HVLP sprayer. Temperatures have been in the mid 60s to 70s.
