March/2010 I posted a thread looking for helping in changing some worn out cleats when I ran into a problem pulling the tracks. Thanks to Capt. Joe "Trinkka" a/k/a 'MacGyver' & Sunland the deck plate suggestion worked great to pull the track and mount the new jib cleats. The tracks do have plates underneath the gunwhales for strength support, the mounting bolts just didn't have the nuts fixed to the plate. I used 3M marine sealant with the plates and the whole job only took a couple of hours. Nothing like 'committed' after you drill that first hole in your boat
