I just purchased a 9' inflatable with aluminum floor. The dingy is a fold up. That will fit in my port deck storage. What type of davit systems would you all recommend. Pictures would also be great

We bought from Ocean Marine Systems, http://www.oceanmarinesystems.com/1d_davitmainnew.html

They were easy to deal with, reasonable price well made. They were custom made to fit our boat, all the brackets etc. We're a perfect fit. The davits easily fold in when boats in storage, saves a bit of money. The motor can be left on the dinghy if desired, one davit has a 6:1 tackle to make this easier.

Thank you for your response. I will call them Monday for pricing. Also was looking a Kato Marine. If your familiar, would appreciate your comparison

I helped a friend install a set of Kato davits on his Hunter 40.5. last week. The Kato's are very similar in terms of quality. My friend only bought the two basic davit parts from Kato and then made up the cross struts, braces etc. himself. He used thick walled s/s tubing. He wanted his own custom design for also holding a solar panel. And he had a radar post mounted on the swim platform we had to deal with. It was not a stock boat to begin with. It needed to be fitted up in the boat yard. He did a great job on the design and it turned out very well.

I have the Ocean Marine system on my 2007 H-36 and purchased it used from a Hunter 410
owner and it is well built and was easy to install.
Not much drill holes and the thing I like the most is the double strut that keeps them from swinging or moving.
I belong to a sailboat club with many members and they all have different type of davits and most are happy with them and I suggest you do your research and shop around for best price for a total system that has cross bars that keep them from moving around and strong.
I have been told that Garhauer Marine is a good place to start but so many makers are all
pretty good depending how heavy duty and what size dinghy and motor.
I have a 9' inflatable with 8HP and cruise with the motor on the dinghy while sailing most
times and very happy with my system but I am not saying it is the best system but they Ocean Marine does make different systems some more heavy duty.
