I put Martek davits on my C310. They've worked out very well.

I thought about it but wasn't sure if the boat is wide enough at the stern. I'd love to see picture if you decide to do it.
Tom, The 31 is wider at the stern. Where do you keep you're boat?

You're right, Bob, the C310 is a lot wider at the stern then the 30. We use an 8' Walker Bay for a dinghy. Not sure how that would work out for you, though. We keep Andante at the Town River Yacht Club in Quincy. I've visited your area by car many times, but never by boat. It's on my list of anchorages to try some day.

Guys -- thank you for the feedback. We are looking to purchase a Catalina 30. Put one through survey last week that didn't go so well...we just sold our Catalina 42, and are looking to move down to a smaller boat, but still want to carry a dinghy on the stern if possible. Thanks again for the feedback -- gives us some things to research.

Gee, if you're downsizing from a C42, wouldn't the next step be a 34 or a 36? :) They'd be wide enough at the stern...

Tom,
My grandfather kept his boat there. He was a Power Squadron Commander back in the 50's/60's time frame. I took my Coast Guard Axillary Safety Course there. Have you tried PunJab's Indian yet! I live a lot closer to Quincy than Mattapoisett. When I bought her I tried getting a mooring in Scituate but unfortunately there where people on the list still waiting from 1997. I bought her and kept her in Buzzards Bay. Have to say I really love it even if I have to drive 50 minutes to get there. Someday I'll make it through the Canal and up the coast. Like to spend a night at Hewlett Cove. My dad had his 39 Gulfstar there. It's changed a lot.
I have a 10' Zodiac which we tow or when on longer trips I use the spare jib halyard and store her on deck. I bought a set of Garhauer davits a few years ago yet to install. I have a Fairclough cover that will need to be modified if I do. Might save them for when we move up to a C34 and join Stew's group :)
