I'm considering an upgrade of my dinghy arrangement. Currently, I deflate and fold, with a 2.5 HP outboard stowed on the rail.
If I invested in a larger dinghy -- perhaps even a small RIB tender with a 15-20 HP engine -- is there a davit setup that can carry a load such as this? There is a school of thought that suggests that such a craft would have enough power to manoeuvre the yacht in an engine loss emergency, although this is not the prime reason for an upgrade.
Has anyone got a large dinghy or small RIB slung astern who can advise on the options?
