Our '86 H31 has Datamarine depth gauge and knot meter. The knot meter works pretty well most of the time, but the depth gauge has been iffy for the past couple of years, and this year especially it doesn't seem to be working much at all. Rather than try to get it repaired (I know Datamarine is out of business, so that might be a big problem) we're looking to replace the instruments. They're also almost 20 years old. We'd appreciate any recommendations that anyone has for what a good, reliable, simple (if there is such a thing on a boat) replacement might be.

I replaced the SR Mariner system on my H31

My Hunter 31 had a Nav 5 system by SR Mariner. It was experiencing a new problem every year. Last year it cost nearly $400 to repair and replace transducers and it still wasnt working properly. I stopped throwing good money after bad and replaced it with a Raymarine ST40 bidata system. Depth and Log on one display with transducers for under $300. It works superbly. I liked it so much I got the wind speed/direction display as well. Someday I'll even take the time to install it! The summer has just been too nice and the sailing so good. Paul
