Dark Blue pinstripes

We have a 25 foot Pearson and the stripes were badly peeling when I bought the boat so I removed them. The gel coat is raised where the stripes had protected the surface for all those years. So you can see a ghost imprint of the old stripes. I would like to replace them with the same pattern/color and cannot seem to find a source. My local guy can print the stripes but says his machine would not handle the 25' length in one piece so he wants to splice the vinyl together. I am concerned that the splice would peel over time or just get moldy and nasty looking. Anyone know where we can custom order vinyl with multiple pinstripes separated by clear stripes?

peterbud no I have not considered this. But I will see if I can find someone to paint them on. Thanks for the suggestion!

Captain Ron 18 - unfortunately Boat US does not sell a 2 5/8" strip with 4 stripes of 3/8 inch separated by clear vinyl 3/8" and apparently no one else does either. trying to find a place that i can customer order them.

Depending on how wide the one piece stripe is, you may not be able to bend the vinyl to the contour of your boat if you were able to get it printed as you mentioned. Multiple single stripes are easier to bend but more difficult to apply with uniform spacing. Paint would be a good alternative but will take more time and prep work . How wide are the blue stripes?

We have a local guy who can redo boat stripes in a single length. Failing that, hat about some of the boat lettering sites advertising on the web. I.e. http://www.namemyboat.com/boat-lettering.html, or other like that

Ted, Each strip is 3/8" wide. Good point about the curve of the boat. I am looking for someone who can paint them on. But we don't have many options here or maybe I am just not searching the correct terminology. I get the names of the yards that do bottom jobs. Thinking that is not the same as the people who would do detail work like this.

Look for an automotive pin striping company. If you can't find directly, call a couple of your larger local car dealers and ask who they use for vinyl pin stripe jobs or alternatively painted on pin striping. Another avenue is to find a local "custom" hot rod or race car builder. They both would either do pin striping in house or have someone that does it for them. 3/8 inch is not a big deal to get to lay down smoothly around the curve of the boat. Mine were 3/8 and 3/4 wide on the Beneteau and neither were a problem. It does take patience to get it right the first time though.

Here is what we did on the B. The brown stripe is 3/4 or 7/8 and the teal stripe is 3/8 or 1/2, can't recall off the top. The wide brown boot stripe I had painted on to match the brown vinyl. The Celtic Knot and the Beneteau Name I had a local sign maker cut from the same teal colored vinyl as the striping.
