One of the few issues with the new 25 is the stove or lack of. There is a square polished SS box or frame with a hole in the bottom and that is it. I have not a clue what the guts are supposed to look like. Is there a replacement out there that will fit in the hole?

Heres a pic of the origional type stove I snagged from an ad at Thunderbird Marine. It's a raise and lower gimbal affair. My boat did't have the stock stove. I use a butane single burner with stainless guards over the fiberglass. I made a 3/4 spacer out of wood and drilled holes were the stove feet are to keep it in place.
Works fine--- just $20 bucks for a stove.... butane $1.00 at the dollar store!

Do you have a pic and a model number for your stove, I would far rather have a butane stove than an alcohol one.

Butane Stove pics

Stove is nothing special -- picked mine up at dollar stores and Big 5 sporting goods on sale under $20 bucks. They do rust out and need to be replaced occassionally. This particular stove is a Amco model A100 - I've had others in the same spot.

Darker wood is screwed from below to give the shelf an edge, so far the stove hasn't jumped across the boat, tea kettle goes in sink while sailing.

Keeping the flame burning!

No problem. Like the stove! Think I'll pick one up too. As I said they do corrode.

Most folks move the stove up to feel better about the flame. I've had only one problem when I wasn't paying attention to flame action and had it to high - hense the guard attached to the sink side. no damage, just a very odd cooking odor -- kinda like a resin factory!
