I had been trying to purchase a Caravelle for a few years, but was on the fence a bit, never having been on one before. Wind Song was on the market and I knew I really had to make a decision to pull the trigger or not, so I flew up to Charleston, SC to spend a day sailing on Cythera. The owner Barry was great and answered my many questions. She is gorgeous! Needless to say that day sealed the deal and I knew I was going to move ahead with purchasing Wind Song fully confident this was the right boat for me.

Here are 2 short vids I shot onboard her

Lloyd,

Here is the history of the Cythera that you were aboard. That boat, hull # 13 was originally Dawn Trader, built for Annie and Dick Steaddman. The boat, in 1995 was a museum piece. Absolutely gorgeous and perfect in every way. She was on the market for far more than Anne and I could afford.

Our boat, hull number 1 (x-Excalibur and built for Jack Merrill, Commodore of the CCA), was at that time Owned by Don Law and named Cythera. Don bought hull 13 and we bought hull 1 from Don. Can you imagine owning two Caravelles?

Its been a marriage that has lasted 19 years and we are still very happy together.

Scott,

Yes I remember when she was up for sale in 2008/9 I think? Luckily she is being maintained to a very high standard, bright work is incredible! Thanks for the history, always so interesting to know this.

Scott,

I forgot to mention that I had two long talks with Annie about caravelles and where there might be any problems, ete. She only had good things to say and not to worry at all, well the survey sure proved her correct!
