I am looking at a 2008 Beneteau Cyclades 50 and would like to know if there are any design or performance issues with this yacht.

Spent a week on a 2006 in 2012. It was a nice sailing boat. We encountered heavy seas one day, I was at the helm. It was a workout but it seemed to handle it well.

As far as the rest? If I remember the genset seemed a tad undersized, but otherwise a pretty straightforward vessel.

These are almost always going to be charter boats so I suspect it will have high hours on the engine and genset. Will likely need batteries as well if they haven't already been replaced. In general it is probably well used. Also a little spartan on options too, non furling main, manual primaries, minimal electronics, etc. if that's cool with you. May not even have Autopilot.

The '4-door 50' is probably the most popular charter boat in the world. With its 4 cabins, it can provide privacy to a large group. The downside of that is for a couple, the common area is rather small for a 50 compared to boats designed for a difference use pattern (Sense 50?) As Grouper says, most will be minimally equipped to take charterers point to point. But it's a solid boat with the kinks worked out.
