Cutlass Bearing

I need to get a cutlass bearing for my 1977 30 ft Irwin -- my boat is still in the water awaiting haul-out on Monday 1/9 '06, so don't know the size (i.e. outside dimension) and need a quick turnaround. Does anyone know the bearing size and where I can get one? My yard man tells me it will take over a week to get one through his supplier and I have a transporter set up to move the boat by Friday 1/13 ,06. Any quick reply would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you can dive, take a plastic caliper

If you can dive , you could take a plastic caliper and mesure your shaft diameter and bearing housing.Good luck,

I have a 84 citation with a 16 hp yanmar and the bearing measures 1.5 x 3.5 x 7/8 shaft dia. Measure shaft inside boat, May not need to dive or limit time in water if very cold.

Shaft diameter Irwin 30

The shaft diameter on Ganymede (77 Irwin 30 Competition) is 1" but I cannnot vouch that this is original. Ganymede is on her third (at least) power unit.
