My husband and I recently bought a Catalina 25. We need to have the cushions recovered and are curious how much this project may cost. Does anyone have a ballpark figure?

I had my Cat 27 done last winter by Cato's in Warwick, RI for about $700-800. I reused my original foam. I thought it was a good deal because I had estimates as high as $1200. Good luck.

Avoid "marine" upholsterers

Companies that focus on marine related products or services often will charge more than their "inner city" brethren. You can always call for estimates but I'm betting that you'll find cheaper prices and similar quality if you go with a "regular" upholsterer. Ugly orange tweed should be outlawed! :) LaDonna

Get New Foam

Seriously consider new foam, especially if you plan to sleep aboard. Also, spring for a high quality, extra firm foam, you won't regret it.

ask catalina

They still make them for most of their boats and you will likely find it much cheaper than any quote you have so far (other than do it yourself). They can even let you choose what color (from their stock colors).

Cushion Replacement

Just talked to Catalina factory a few minutes ago, was thinking about replacing my cushions in my 1988 catalina with a traditional interior. They quoted me $925.00 for new covers and foam......
