cushion cleaning

I recently purchased an 86 h34 which has the blue cushions I have seen on most h34's. They are not worn but from the boat sitting on the hard for a while they seem dusty, Also the po had a dog as a mate on occasion. is there any way the covers could be washed or dry cleaned or some other method of refreshing them?

Power wash

I took mine to a self service car wash. Stand them up and power wash them. Just be care not to get so close with the wand that you damage the fabric. Soap then rinse then stand up to dry somewhere for a day or two.

Throw them in the washing machine and dryer. There virtually indestructible material.

my wife pulled the covers off and soaked both the foam and the covers separately in the bathtub in dyper wash over a few days - she then washed the covers on a gentle cycle in the washing machine- took ages to dry the foam properly but the result was upholstery is AS NEW- well worth the effort

hey guys, thanks for the hints. Due to auto limitations will take covers off and wash them, gentle cycle, and let air dry.

I washed the foam cushions for our "34" in a kids wading pool with some Dawn, as others have said it took for ever to dry. But a big improvement, Had the cushions recovered this year in a sunflower yellow, really brightens up the interior.

Check for tags. Our HV'36 indicated (dry clean only). So we may have them professionally cleaned at the end of the season.

Ours also say dry clean only and just a warning that they are not very
easy to put back on again so be very careful to do the right thing if not
could be
If not you could just wash lightly with sponge and some fabric cleaner and vacum and air dry.

My wife and I have the boat seat cushion covers Dry Cleaned and the back rests (which have buttons through the cushion preventing removal) cleaned using our Hoover Steam Vac with its upholstry attachment.

Both methods get the dirt and 'Boat Smell' out of the fabric.
