OK I ordered and received the stern rail seats from Hunter. They have a cut out for cup holders, but no cup holders. Where can I get them and what will work?

Holders

The stern rail seats for our 34 came with the holders!!! I would contact the seller/supplier/manufacturer.

Contact Hunter

I had the same problem. The holders should have been sent as part of the seats. I contacted Hunter and they sent the holders.

Measure diameter of hole

look or go to West Marine/BOATUS and purchase cupholders and save a bundle.

Should be no extra cost

Russell - Hunter sent the holders at no additional cost. Did you have any problem with fitting the seats on the rails?

They Should Have Come with the Seats

They are the same ones that West Marine has but you should not have to pay for them twice. Mine came loose from the seats in transit but they were still in the box. Was ther residual glue around the edges?

Hey Joe, When will the ice be out on Leech? Glad to see you are still kicking!

The holders are by Beckson

My stern rail seats came without the holders. The local dealer charged me about $15 each to order them later. :-( The ones that I have are made by Beckson.

Any other location for a cup holder

Hi Guys, I just got a 93 23.5 and I don't have the stern rail seats. Has anyone come up with another solution for cockpit cupholders? Thanks jim.wharton@fnc.fujitsu.com Jim

Holes in teak steps

Jim, Another forum asked what the pieces of teak are for on the Gunnelsthat look like steps. I have seen in later models of the 240 that there are holes cut in them for a can of your favorite frosty adult beverage. I am contemplating taking a hole saw and cutting a hole just for than purpose. They might need reinforcing if people ar still going to use them to step on. West Marine also sells drink holders that have suction cups on them. I have had limited sucess with those. Good luck. Jonathan Costello Heeling Powers

Seats mounted

Ok here is the report back. The rails are on the boat. It took about four hours with the help of my neighbor, definitely a two man job. Mine is the 93 model so I had no aluminum plate glassed into the hull. Hunter did provided backing plates for me to use. We had to drill and tap the holes, then trim the plates to fit the hull contours. While I could not see the mounting point ,access to the area for the plates was sufficient. I could easily reached it with only one hand. We mounted those plates first, then three other four post laid nicely on the rub rails. The fourth we had to encourage into place, again definitely a two man job. The backing plates for the rub rails were to wide. We bought some aluminum stock cut down to 4 inch strips. Used the provided plates as a template cut the holes and mounted the four post. I contacted Hunter this morning and they are sending the cup holders. Now I notice that the standard Bimini I have seems to conflict with the stern rails. I see one on this site designed for stern rails. Can someone explain the difference to me. How would I dispose of (Sell) the old one if I buy a new one? (I wonder if Jim has a bimini already? We seem to live close together, Dallas.) Anybody know how many 235 Hunter made? Russell

Yes on the Bimini cover

Russell, Yes the boat came with the crappy white vinyl Bimini cover. I wish it was sunbrella with the stanless steel rails. Send me an email sometime... Jim 214-477-3611 jim.wharton@fnc.fujitsu.com
