We bought a 1982 Catalina 30 about a year ago. The previous owner wasn't much of a sailor, and some things on the boat needed some restoration. I haven't been able to find a diagram showing how the cunningham should be rigged. If anyone has a diagram, a photo, or a written description to share, I'd appreciate that.

Jeff950: They way I rigged my Cunnigham was very simple. I used a medium size soft boom vang. One end is attached to a cringle on the main - the cringle on my main was about 1' or 2' avove the tack and the other end was attached anywhere you can find at the base of the mast. Worked great and I never messed with the main halyard. The Cunnigham allows you to get a better adjustment due to its better mechanical advantage .

Do you really need a tackle? I use a line from a padeye to port on the mast and lead it through the cringle to a jamcleat on the starb. side of the mast. Seems like enough tension... but I don't race.
