hello again

A friend just picked up a 25' power Chris Craft (with trailer) at an auction for $500. It is in remakably good condition being a fresh water boat, but the point is, it's 25'. This gave me the opportunity last night, to visualize your boat, crammed with stuff, etc. Now I can see how doable it would be. I also noticed how spacious my 37'er is, but that's another story. Great read, again. Steph is very photogenic, to say the least.

Brian, I envy you and Steph, I have friends

that cruised in a 27 O'Day not nearly as well equipped as Empty Pockets. They made sure to utilize every nook and cranny. I am afraid that I am too attached to the shore to be able to take such an extended voyage. So we cruise close to home and pretend. We can stay out for a week without touching shore. A watermaker is wonderful because the water never tastes of the barrel. But why did you come back? And when will you go again? And tell Steph that she is very pretty and that you married better than she did. ;) Please keep the photo essays comming. Ross S/V Bietzpadlin

Brian, shall I presume that your three axis

mount for the solar panel is your design? It sounded like it was a product whose time had come. Now if you can make it self tracking and self powered............ It will be great for boats on moorings while they follow the winds or currents.

Brian, I can see where getting it to find

sunrise or to track through a 360 degree turn without twisting the wires off would be a real problem. A turn or two on a crank is probably better.

Electrical system details?

Brian, Do you have a site anywhere detailing what you have done to Empty Pocket? Specifically I am interested in your electrical system.

Electrical system details...

Hey Scott... Unfortunately we haven't put any of the electrical details online. Was there something in particular that you needed to know?

Just curious

how you power all the accessories - watermaker, etc. How much is solar power vs alternator or generator. We are going to need to redo the electrical system on our boat soon.

Electrical system...

Hey Scott... I will see if I can get a detail online sometime over the next few weeks... If you are planning a system overhaul, the best advice I can give you is to get the total of the amp/hours per day you will be using and that will help you to size your recharging system accordingly. As always, feel free to ask advice if you need to... Brian
