Wonderful Story!
Hi Steph & Brian; Many thanks for another great installment of the continuing adventures of the two sailors (one a skilled fisherman) and a cat in the Bahamas. I so enjoy reading about the journey and can relate to a few things.1. It never blows wind when you need it.As a sailor myself - that is quite true. Most sailors are reluctant to admit it, but a good engine is vital in cruising the ICW.I think your idea of the kitchen timer on the dogwatch run from Delray to the Bahamas was a great idea (one of many you two have come up with)I saw the picture of your scrubbing the pots while prone over the starboard rail - I use stainless pots too, and usually tie a small line around them and lower them over the side for a spell. The salt water loosens most grease and grime after an few hours or so making cleaning them a snap. It's like leaving the posts in the dishwasher overnight so you can relax and have your obligatory "one" drink. Sorry to hear that Whisper went AWOL on you two and happily she was saved from those fishies. We don't have too many cat-eating fishies up around these parts unless you consider the schoolies of snapper blues in the late summer. She looks no worse for wear, and is the quintissential cruising kitty. Thanks again for another wonderfully colorful and fascinating story of your travels. Stu"Karakahl"1979 O'day 22 CBCenterport, NY
