Hi all" Just an interesting note..... I decided not to renew my Cruising World subscription this year. Since the expiration, I have received a collection notice from National Credit Audit Corp for the $24 subscription with the normal caveats about ruined credit, pay now or else type of wording. Anyone else seen anything like this ? Jeff

Maybe it is a scam

I have been receiving mail from a company called "Magazine Payment Servcices". Their mail looks like a normal invoice. Some are for magazine I currently have, such as Cruising World, but also for other magazines that I have never had. I think they are hoping that I would be dumb enough to think these are real bills, and just pay them without thinking about it. They must think we are really stupid. I called them up, and "eventually" I got a real person, and after a very long and unpleasant discussion, I found out that they are not associated with Cruising World, or anyone. Also, I have not been able to make them remove my name from their database either. I have been getting mail from them for years. So, I bet this collection notice you received may be something very similar. I would suggest that you call Cruising World's Customer Service and ask them. Don't penalize Cruising World just because some scum bag is trying to steal your money. Good luck, and happy sailing.

NCAC is just a bad company

I wouldn't blame Cruising World... NCAC is a sub of 'Choice Point' marketing and a known bad egg. The attached thread is interesting. While NCAC is a member of the Illinois BBB, that doesn't seem to count for much. I would disregard the notice from NCAC and contact Cruising World directly. Dave Crowley s/v Wind Dreamer PS - I'm related to a legit bill collector (it's not an oxymoron, I promise! :) ) She stated that legit collectors wouldn't go after $24 - they'd only make about $2.00 on the collection! :)

Cruising World

I had Cruising World send me a tryout issue. Did not like it since I do not own a Mega Cruising Yacht nor do I criuse around the world. A week ago I got the same notice to pay the $24. or legal action would commence to collect.

Here's an idea...

If they include a postage-paid envelope, put their crap in it and mail it back to them!

Sail did it to me

Same thing happened to me with Sail Magazine. These magazines are all advertizement anyway. Not worth the money.
