My home cruising grounds, too, at least until this August. I've been a few other places and so far the only thing some other places have is warmer water, though we swim anyway... This photo looking west just south of Sand Island.

One more thing.

Anyone coming to the Apostles next year around the 4th of July can sail in the epic Bayfield Race Week, either with your own boat, a local charter, or as always-needed crew. One day, the whole week, or anything in between.

Over 50 boats race, most being 30-50 feet long, but lately an influx of <30 footers (S2 7.9, Ultimate 20, J/80 J/70) have also appeared. Quality racing in buoy, mid-distance, and JAM fleets.

It's an absolute blast, with quality races every day, and rum socials and shore games and contests every night. The town gets totally behind it, and for the week sailors own the place.

Anyone interested can PM and I can help sort you out. July 4-8. Its an amazing time, and you'll likely end up with a coveted Mt Gay hat!

Now we often grill fresh Lake Trout or Whitefish from the fishery in town, but the lobster ravioli was from Costco. Its pretty good. In particular when served with fresh veggies over it.
