Hi, I am considering a DRS or cruising Asymetrical spinnaker for my 29.5 for light wind conditions. I need something versatile and easy to handle. Could you give me an idea of the LUFF and FOOT size I should be looking for on E-Bay for a used one please. Any comments or pros and cons of using a ATN chute or Doyle UPS furling system ? Mario

A rough estimate...

Well, on my H31, the luff is 42.5', the leech is 37 and the foot is 20.4. As I understand it, there is some flexibility regarding the size of an assymetrical chute, but I believe the recommended size for the luff is .92 to 1.0xI, and for the foot, 1.6 to 1.7xJ; so if you have the basic parameters for your rig, you should be able to figure out what will work. The ATN dousing sock works well, and I would also recommend a Tacker. Dunno about other brands or products, though. But I would emphasize that a dousing mechanism of some kind is extremely handy at times. Good luck - rick
