I'd like to find out what the recommended cruising RPM and maximum RPM settings are for the M30. I didn't get an owners manual when I bought my boat and the Perkins manual doesn't list this information. Many thanks!
I have a Perkins M50, which I think is the same block as the 30. I cruise at 2000 RPM and get seven knots in good conditions with a MaxProp. I can push it to 2400 RPM, but it's straining. Fuel burn is about .8 gph in flat water with no wind or current against us, but it rises to about 1.5 gph against wind and current. (I have a big dodger).
