I have a H36...same model

Yanmar 27hp Fuel 38 gallons 3blade non folding Prop I burn about 3/4gal /hr at 3100 rpm 6.25-6.5 knotts so.. 38 gal/ .75gal/hr X 6.25=316 nautical miles. I wouldn't push it...because you have to account for weather conditions, additional wt on the boat and so forth. My boat has alot of heavy junk on board. I always calculate no more than 250 miles on my boat and not an inch more. Other people might have different experience depending again on wt of boat and 2 vs 3 blade props. Most people could probably do a little faster and slower rpms...but like I said I have a heavy boat with lots of junk. abe

Which engine?

I just filled up and got 42 hrs. on 34 gal of fuel. That works out to .8 gph. We have a 3JH2E on our HV'36 with a 3 bladed prop. There are many conditions that determine fuel consumption. I would alway figure that you should figure about 1 gph. This is also assuming that you are running your engine at the propper RPM (70-80% of max rated RPM). Lower RPM will produce lower fuel consumption but may not be doing your engine any good. This is easy for me to say since I just ran out of fuel over the Memorial day weekend, ouch (dummy)!

Fuel Consumption

I have a Maxprop and burn about .75 gal hour in my 03 356 without the generator running. I run at about 2750 at 6.2 knots. This is good for about 50 hours until you run dry. I also usually run my generator and that takes another .25 gal per hour. With the generator, I can go about 236 NM with no reserve, or about 38 hours until dry. Without the generator, the range is 316 NM. If I were planning, I'd want at least 10 to 20% reserve depending on where I was going.

Thanks for the replies

Gentleman thanks for the replies. I'm only moving the boat 120 nm so I should have no problems on a full tank. Thanks Again
