Mainsail Specs

Hi Mark and welcome to the Doyle Sails forum. Aside from what would be options, you have pretty much described a Doyle BlueWater 2+2 Mainsail. The Number of reefs, is always optional. Reefs are joined together up the leech. A 2-ply leech is also an option, but I wouldn't considerate necessary on your size boat. We use all stainless steel rings at all corners and reefs, reinforced with webbing. We do not use any leather. Sailmaking techniques have gone beyond use of leather for normal applications. Leather holds water and will mildew and eventually rot, not worth the extra money unless going for a traditional look or in special applications. Our Cruising mains use a Stainless steel head ring to prevent cover chafe. You are welcome to visit our facility in St. Petersburg FL anytime.
