For those of you who wake with sore backs or just looking to improve the sleep comfort on your boat I think I have the answer. We recently purchased a new mattress for our home and had a spare mattress topper. This is a 2 1/2 " high density memory foam topper (queen) and it fits just about perfectly in the Aft cabin. It prevents the cushions from separating and adds a level of comfort I couldn't believe. The only problem I see is I may never get the 2nd mate out of bed! (or is that a problem?) Another advantage is you can make it up with fitted sheets. The 2 1/2 Queen mattress toppers are available at Costco or Costco.com for $139.00 US and it is a great non sailing upgrade for the dollar.
