Cruising Design Reefer furler

Anyone have a Reefer 1 furler manual. I can't figure out where to cleat off the wire halyard after the jib is raised.
Also, is a shackle used between the sail head & sail slide. The PO used a small piece of rope to connect the two which didn't seem right.
