Thanks for Info

Hi Thanks for the info . Do you have a sail makers name or was it from Norths . Bought a FINN sail from Norths in New Zealand saved about £200 or $400 even paying the taxes so may be worth an email . Is ITN a name of the sock manufacturer or do all sailmakers make their own . All new to me sailed a FINN for years and only had one sail to play with . Kind Regards Ian

Neil Pryde

Hi Ian, mine is a Neil Pryde and looks like the same thats on the web though I'm sure its changed a bit. All my sails are Beneteau standard and they'r all Neil Pryde. The sock is not a Neil Pryde and I dont think it originally came with the boat. I think ITN is the name or IDT or something... I think all socks are pretty much the same and work the same way, hard oval on bottom and two lines to control up and down. I never put the sail in the douser as it was already set up but I think thats the hardest part... get a sock with the right size (sizing guide on North sails site), they all look the same so I'd go for price....

North

I have a North Cruising Gennaker on my Beneteau 323. I use it with an ATN Snuffer annd it works well. I have rigged the tack line all the way back to the cockpit so that I don't have to go forward to adjust it. I have been looking at the possibility of installing the Selden Sprit to get the tack a bit further forward. It looks like a fairly straightforwad setup. Its not absolutely necessary, but might improve performance and handling a bit.

Rollgen - Lee sails

I just stumbled across a roller furling mechanism for a cruising chute that seems to rig in front of the headstay (maybe off of the anchor roller?) in a manner similiar to the new Tartan 3400 - which leaves the cruising chute rigged all the time - just unfurl it when you want it. Don't know much more except - it may be an interesting alternative to a sock etc.
