Oday 222 Heritage Lake, Putnam Co., IN
Thinking about solo sailing the Ohio River next summer, from Southern Indiana to possibly as far as Pittsburgh. I estimate at least a month or so, including taking in the local sights. No problem extending the cruise to 2 months if having a good time. Any comments would be appreciated, both pros and cons. O'Day 222, '84, all lines come aft.
Thanks all, great group of people here.

I grew up motor boating on the Ohio. Current can be stronger than you think and depending on the time of year and up river rainfall, there can be crazy debris in the water. Like refrigerators and entire trees.

MacGregor 26X Central Florida
Have limited experience with my MacGregor 26X on St. John's River in Florida. From MacGregor forums and the folks that do rivers in the midwest, it seems important to understand the protocols for dealing with large tows and tugs. My understanding is that there are VHF channels that you need to monitor and to, generally, be prepared to get out of the way smartly.
