I have a little packet of cruise and carry information I found in my
Work shop. If Someone has one and would like the info on it I'll mail it
to you. It's all the literature assembly drawing etc. Warrenty card.
Sales reciept, instruction etc. If you don't know what cruise and carry
is you don't need the info. Please don't ask for it unless you have
one. Doug

Cruse and carry was a little aircolled outboard That came in a
canvas bag with a strao that you couls ling over your shoulder. It
was very light with the idea being that you could take it off your
dingy at a city dock and carry it to town with you so it couldn't be
stolen. I think it had about the same engine as a weed eater. It
would push a ding about maybe knots. At one time most cruisers had
one. The literature I have can likely be found on line? Doug

Thanks Doug, perhaps a bit like a British Seagull then, except that is/was water cooled. I have two of them. I also had a light weight Italian air cooled outboard but that was so unreliable....Thanks again Geoff#################################################Geoff Blake, G8GNZ JO01fq: Chelmsford, Essex, UKgeoff@... or melecerties@...Using Linux: Ubuntu 14.04 on Intel or Debian on UltraSparcand Apple OS X 10.10 Yosemite on my Macbook Pro. A Selva? Made of lots of flimsy plastic bits? I could go on....

Mine broke my heart till I replaced it (on a previous boat) with a Honda 4 stroke...

The only problem with the Cruise and carry was that the carborator
jets were tiny so. You had to be very carefull to run the gas out of
th carborator with every use= and carry a spare spark plug as the
oil gas mixture was 25 to one. Used right they were dependable.

No, I cannot remember the make, although it looked like a lawn mower engine. It had a reed valve on the intake but it would never start without a battle. I replaced it with a Seagull which was a paragon of reliability. I also have a Honda 5hp which was from an earlier boat and a 2 stroke Tohatsu - both quite reliable.Geoff#################################################Geoff Blake, G8GNZ JO01fq: Chelmsford, Essex, UKgeoff@... or melecerties@...Using Linux: Ubuntu 14.04 on Intel or Debian on UltraSparcand Apple OS X 10.10 Yosemite on my Macbook Pro.
