Cruisair Carryon Air Conditioner Hatch Bag?

A friend gave me this Cruisair Carryon for free, but it is missing the hatchbag to seal the hatch when in use.

I made a temporary plywood seal, to see how well it would cool the boat on a hot day, and was somewhat impressed. after 24 hours, the boat was actually passably cool when we went aboard yesterday afternoon.

The problem is the plywood piece I made will never seal the system for wet weather. Too many small gaps, and the way the carryon installs, there is no way to fit one perfectly.

So now I am looking to go with the factory solution of a hatch bag. Does anyone have a used/spare one they would sell?

Does any have a pattern for one that I could use to sew a new one. Has anyone done this?

I have one, but I need it. If helpful, I could take a bunch of pics with a tape measure laying on the bag so you can create a pattern.

If someone has a rotten one that I could disassemble to cut a pattern from that would also be helpful.

I purchased one from West Marine about 15 years ago and paid $100 so with inflation $150 does not seem too out of whack. Cannot vouch for the quality nor the vendor. The thing is that these A/C units are dwindling as evidenced by (0) bids so basically $150 is a sales price .

I have one that I use on my Hunter 31 I use the main cabin hatch. I use the bag but it lets rain in anyway so I made a canopy that mounts to the boom and then I bungee it to wood hand rails that keeps the rain out.

How does your fit the main cabin hatch, I tried, and the raised portion of deck that holds the dorade funnels and stainless crossbar gets in the way. Pictures please.

Here are some measurements

Thank you rgranger, I really apreciate your help. Next time you go back, If you could straighten out the top and bottom openings like you were going to fold them, and measure the distance across each one, twice that measurement would be the circumference of each opening. Then measuring the distance between openings on the topside and underside would let me estimate the bags length. Don't put yourself out if inconvenient. I'm in no immediate rush. I need to order fabric etc if I am going to make one. Thanks again.

It sets in athwart ships so it 90 degrees to the center line of the boat. I fits very nicely. I will take a picture when I use it but here we only use 4-5 times a season.

Even better than plywood is a seal plate made from 1/2 closed cell foam (exercise mat). That, combined with the hood makes them pretty rain proof.

I will try one of my wife's retire yoga mats. Combined with the plywood for support, it might work.
