I am aware that the Cruisair Carry-On 5000 AC will run on a Honda Eu2000 generator. Can someone tell me if the newer Carry-On 7000 btu unit will run on this carry-on generator?

Not a Problem

I ran the Honda 2000 all last Summer with my 10,000 BTU on my h326. I just purchased the h36 with a 13,500 BTU air-conditioner and the Honda also runs it as well. The only diference is the Auto throttle pushes the RPM's a bit harder-(More Gas/Less Run Time).

Water Cooled built-inVS air cooled carry-on

I am amazed at the btus you can run on this little generator but do you think the air cooled carry-on unit may still pull too much at startup. If anyone has both units mentioned please test this setup for me.

Check the specs...

..at the link below and you will find that the 7000 needs 6.9 amps to run and 21 amps for startup. This is not a very efficient unit and needs more than the Honda can handle. Built-in marine systems are more efficient. For example, the Mermaid 12,000 BTU needs only 18 amps for startup. http://www.mmair.com/product/12000.html I hope this helps, Monty

Re-Cruisair Carry-On 7000

You can also add a extra starting capacitor to the unit and cut the starting amps just about in half.

Should work -- I was able to start my 16,5k BTU

flagship marine that I installed with a Honda 2000 (it was pushing the envelope though)
