Planning to cross the Atlantic with a Hunter 54' from Connecticut to the Balears (Mediterranean). We are seeking suggestions on routes, best time of the year to travel and descriptions of similar experiences.
Andrea,If you can get your hands on the October 2000 edition of Sail Magazine, it has a great article on crossing the Atlantic in both directions. You need to depart Bermuda bu mid/late June and you will have the Gulf Stream and Prevailing Westerlies taking you all the way across. If you will include an e-mail address, I will scan the article and get it off to you.Ben AllenMontgomery, AL"Wahoo"O'Day 26

Dec.15,2000Dear Andrea,Ben and Charlie have given some good suggestions. Hal and Margaret Roth have made some notable voyages. You might also want to look at Hal Roth's book, I believe titled On the Path of Ulysses, describing their Atlantic crossing in June on their 35 footer and their subsequent Mediterranean voyages.Brian Pickton@ BeneteauOwners.netAboard the Legend, Rodney Bay, St.Lucia
