OK, here goes.I've heard the only bad thing about the CDI furler is that its ugly and thatsbecause it comes to you rolled-up and that plastic when unrolled will not straintenout no matter what you do so when the furler is installed it looks crooked from the bottom all the way to the top.Now does anyone know of a fix for this?I like everything about cdi except that, any suggestions!Thanks Guys, Johnny

I have a CDI FF4

I installed a CDI FF4 installed on my 25.5 around October. I haven't noticed that it looks crooked, but I definitely will on my next trip out to the boat (Friday). If you want, I can snap a pic of it and send to you. We carefully followed the instructions that came with it to straighten it as soon as it arrived (that may make a difference).

First of all, it's never been an issue for me. Don't really notice it. Seems some people might be looking to hard for flaws. And I've never had any issues/problems at all. Works great!Now how to straighten out? Try laying it out on a flat surface when it's hot and sunny. Keep an eye on it and hopefully it might straighten it out enough to keep the skeptic's at bay.

It does have a memory

The plastic extrusion does have a memory. When I bought mine, the advice was not to let it sit rolled up for more than a few weeks...just to minimize the potential problem. The instructions CDI provides gives sensible advice on dealing with the situation should it arise. Regardless, once you get it on the stay, I'll bet it's fine. I've found the installation an easy two-person job, and I've been happy with the unit. Good luck.
