There are several crew finder sites. I haven't looked at one in a long while. Most seem to be looking for crew to sail a long distance, not for casual day sailing or club racing.
I've been using various web resources for finding crew. Depends what you are looking for: day sailing, passage making, deliveries. I've never looking for day sailing crew. I just go sail. But for deliveries and passage making i do have some experience.
For deliveries you are generally paying for crew. If you don't have credentials you'll have a hard time finding competent crew.
For passage making there are a lot of options.

It's very hard for me to give you any advice in this area because I don't know your competency level.
For me, when sailing my own boat I go to "Crew Finders" and post the voyage info and the level of knowledge they should have, which for me is none in the unpaid section. I prefer to teach those who know nothing about sailing than those who do things another way.
If you needed professionals for any reason I'd look in the "paid" professional section. But I always go to the professional sites where crew members have to pay a fee to belong, so I won't find myself with a wholly unsuitable individual, and look more. Their fee is proof to me that they are serious and interested in sailing enough to shell out a few bucks.

I totally agree! The crew I've gotten through the sites folk have to pay for tend to be high quality. I seem to think because often those sites vet their applicants at least to a degree.
