Can anyone out there give me the low-down on Crazy Dave at American Marine & Sail? I'm interested in buying a 260 from him, and would like to know of any positive or negative dealings with him

I purchased a used 260 from someone that originally bought it from Dave. I worked with Dave to have the boat hauled out and prepped for an 800 mile haul. In short, I didn't buy it from him but he was extremely helpful in getting the boat out of the water and did a fantastic job prepping it - well beyond the call of duty. He also made himself available by phone to walk me through raising the mast, etc. My 2 cents.

I have dealt with Dave a couple of times, although I have never bought anything, I would have no qualms doing so. He has always been very honest and direct with any questions I have had.

Have purchase 3 boats from Dave
Have seen the crack of his .... while upside down in all three boats. Have stayed at his house and drank lightening, have scratched the dog ears. He can be had for some trains - HO, N gauge. Anything else??? Jim S/V Java

and would again. Knows his stuff, fair, a good guy to have in your corner. He fix my boat after a run in with a bridge, went out of his way to do thing right. John

If you check the archives you'll find that Dave is the father of the H260 and is mentioned frequently. Nobody knows more about this boat. He's helped us all even though we bought our boats from other dealers.

Remember guys, Crazy Dave wants to keep his name and business reasonably anonymous here. I bought a boat from him and recommend him highly, but its unfair to other dealers to promote his business here.

What other dealer contributes as much as Crazy Dave. And I know he always asks not to be mentioned by his dealer name but for goodness sake this man spends a lot of time helping everyone on this forum. Is it not time he was allowed to "come out" fo he is putting the runs on the board.

travelled 650 miles
We travelled 650 miles to buy a 1995 H26 from Dave because of all the dealers we spoke to he was the most knowledgable about this boat. It was worth every mile for too many reasons to list here.
