Sorry to report a collapsed shed on my newly purchased used 23' Hunter. Mast is in 3 pieces, stanchions, including bow and stern pulpit crushed, some damage on the deck and a shroud cable kinked. Was just working on the bottom painting when put away for the season. Don't know what to do as of yet. The repair shop is quoting around $7000 to repair. My question to any and all is does anyone know where a good used mast could be purchased and also some of the rest of the standing gear. It is an '87 23 foot with wing keel. Trying to determine if it is better for me to work on it instead. Or should I start looking for a new boat? I only have $6000 into the boat in the first place. Oh! I was at least smart enough to have it insured for that amount. But not the replacement amount. Can't always get a good price on a boat.

Can you be more specific...

...About the rig? The H23 was built with about 3 different mast/rig setups that I can think of from the top of my head... If you can tell us who made your rig, we may be able to point you in the right direction. I used to have an '87 H23 with a Z-Spar mast/boom, for which I could get replacement parts from US Spars in Gainesville FL (I'll post their web address below). As for the feasabilty of recovering the boat, I'm not sure I'm qualified to make the call. I think, however, that if the cost to repair the damage exceeds the cost to replace the boat altogether, I'd seriously look into collecting from the insurance company and replacing the boat (can you find another H23 for less than $6K? I sold mine with a trailer and an outboard for MUCH less than that...). I realize that last paragraph doesn't take into account any emotional attachment you may have to the boat... and I'm truly sorry to hear about your misfortune.
