cradle for winter storage

Fleur is arriving home by road on Thursday and I need to construt a
cradle to keep her in during the winter. I have printed off the
diagram from the vega handbook but it is very indistinct. Can anyone
direct me to a good copy of this diagram or provide some clarification
on the diagram?

How do I locateSTA30 and STA 70 on the hull?

How are the pads constructed?

How is the wedge in the first diagram constructed?

ARe the timbers secured with bolts or are screws adequate?

Are all the timbers used 1"x4"?

There are two narrow battens/ warps shown fore and aft running from
the keel support timbers to the tressels - what are they made from and
how are the connected into the other timbers?

Finally if anyone knows of a simple and equally secure way to support
the Vega please let me know.

Hi John

Easiest way is to get a number of props. I used four or five each side with
wedges tapped in to ensure a tight fit. Once they are all tight connect them
together with some cross battens. Have a look at any local boatyeard and you
will see what they do. Good idea to have one at teh front as well. If you
need some more adice then give me a call. Garry is also very good and knows
how toprop the boat safely. Have a saw handy, lots of props about 4 to 6
feet long about 4" x 4" and lots of wedges (4" x 4" and about 12" long
tapering from 4" to nothing"

Cheers
