My 1980 fibreglass sailboat suffers numerous cracks in the gelcoat, in the deck, and cabin roof. They are not too wide, maybe 1 mm at most. I don't think the fibreglass is compromised. I'm not sure what has caused the gelcoat cracks, maybe just 25 years out in the Texas sun. Is there gelcoat repair material that I can match the color and fill the cracks? Has anyone had success with or can recommend a repair material or method? Thanks!

Gelcoat Cracks

Old boat, don't get too fussy. Clean out the open cracks; loose material & etc. Wipe area with acetone. Fill with Marine-Tex, use wax paper to press down & smooth out. Buy some automobile touch-up paint (more or less matching color) to paint the Marine-Tex. Good Luck!
