I am considering purchasing a used C-22, and noticed cracks at the mast base. Is this normal gelcoat cracking for a 16 year old boat? Since there is a support column under the mast in the cabin, I'm hoping that a catastrophic structrual failure is unlikely. Should I be concerned? What could be involved in a repair?
