Cracked mast step on S299

Has anyone had issues with the mast step on a S299? I was looking at mine in preparation for mast raising... and noticed a crack behind the raised area for the mast in front of the 2 aft bolts. I cannot imagine how it cracked nor where I can get a replacement. Do I need to replace it? It will be a lake only boat for the forseeable future. Can they be welded?

Have extra mast step

If you are interested in finding a replacement, I may have what you are looking for. When I purchased my s299 back in march. It has a mast step and no mast. I ended up getting a new mast and mast step. Let me know if you are interested in the one I have in my spare parts bin. ( please email captaindj@funma.com

Please send me an e-mail if possible regarding your mast step. I have sent e-mails to you but they bounced. Send to S299 at dcrisler dot com Just remove the spaces and substitute the appropriate symbol for the at and dot.
