On my H-30 the corner of the black FRP bow cap right under the bow shock was cracked and tended to saw through my mooring pendant. It was fixed once with fiberglass but it just broke again in the same place. As a temporary measure I made a cover for the cap that fits over the existing cap as a temporary fix that's lasted 4 years so far. I made the cover for the FRP cap from 3/4" oak with a lip on it so it fits over and slightly in from of the FRP cap. I took off the bow chocks and I cut out the top so that the bow fitting for the fore stay & roller furling unit fit through the top. I drilled holes in the cap in the same location as the old bow chocks and used slighter longer screws. It's the screws from the bow chocks that actually hold the cap in place. I intend, at some point to have a stainless cap made that fits right over the old FRP cap. I supposed there are other ways to fix this but this worked for me.
