I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
I think that I am about done adding things to my H22. I have redone all the wood on the boat, painted some areas that had mildew stains, and added a ton of gear over the last year. Here are things that I have added: Stereo system GPS system New VHF radio Microwave Lap Top Computer Heater (portable plug in) Fans There a lot of other things that I have added, and I already had a lot of stuff on the boat. I think that my boat is well set-up for the cruising season, if the snow ever stopps falling!

What? No radar?

And a video entertainment system, a watermaker, diesel heater, windlass. Come on - there's a lot more to be done!

Bar BQ pit

How about a pit over the transom. Works great and comes in much more handy than a microwave

Hey Bad Obsession

I've got a 240 on the hard not far from Colonial Beach. I'm from up north of there and CB is as far south as I made it last year. How's the sailing in a small boat south of there? Have you been into the Bay in your 22? How'd you do? I'm dying to go - some folks are telling me I'm nuts for even thinking about it in a 24-footer. What do you think?

Been to Solomins and back

I have sailed up past Quantico and down to the bay....I don't think that I will head up river again, not enough marinas and no wind. Sailing in the bay is fine. I hit some pretty rough weather last year coming back into the bay (25 knots steady on the nose with 3 foot waves) but I managed to get through it okay. There are some great places to stop on the way to the bay. This summer I am going to sail from Colonial Beach to Tangier Island and Deltaville. Should make for a nice trip. There is a nice public ramp in Colonial Beach that has enough water (I don't go on a really low tide but 2 hours before or after low tide is okay). That might be a good place if you are trailer sailing the boat. From there it opens up a nice overnight sail to Cobb Island or St. Clemmins Island. Let me know if you have any other questions (I have been sailing the area since I was 12). My email is cpd032@hotmail.com

Locations

The microwave is under the sink. The lap top is carried in its case and usually sits on the starboard leaf of the table. The radio is mounted flush on the low cealing area over the deck on the port side (speakers are at the back of the quarter berths). The grill attaches to the stern pulpit (magma grill), The GPS mounts in the cockpit (handheld), I carry the heater and fan in the storage bins under the seats in the cabin. The VHF is mounted on the ceiling in the cabin on the Port side. The Depth finder is on a swinging mount mounted near the companionway so that it is swung out when in use and stored in the cabin when not in use. I added a small barometer/clock/hydrometer on the bulkhead. I will try to take a few pictures after I get her in the slip this weekend.
