Coyote: The Mike Plant Story

As the end of sailing season approaches for many of us, we will find ourselves looking for vicarious sailing experiences.

This past weekend we watched Coyote: The Mike Plant Story on Amazon Prime. Plant was a solo round the world sailor, long on ambition often short on cash. He went up against the French and finished first in one race.

The film is a well done documentary about his life, his passions and motivation. Well worth viewing on a fall or winter's evening.

I watched this last week, its a great film from my perspective. He grew up sailing on the lake I sail on today. Our sailing center, that is used to teach kids as young as six, houses all the high school teams, and even hosts college regattas, is going to be named after him.
